From all of the life cycle, the most crucial period for the growth of a child is the period of 1000 first day of Life (Hari Pertama Kehidupan/HPK), which is since the child in the womb until the child is 2 years old. Unfortunately, there are still many children who do not have the opportunity to gain access to nutrition and good sanitation to support the period 1000 HPK. This is one of the causes of many stunting problems in Indonesia.

The fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy until the first two years in a children’s life is instrumental in shaping brain function, digestive function, and also in helping to strengthen the immune system. During this time, nutrition intake and as well as stimulation of the environment has took a significant role in their development. The success of nutritional fulfillment in 1000 HPK children can help in shaping human resources that excel in the future.

Meanwhile, the risks that arise if the nutrition intake is not fulfilled in this period is very much dangerous. Infants who are unable to get adequate nutrition could have a vulnerability to various diseases and other health disorders as adults later. This is because the body’s immune system is closely related to the nutritional status.

Therefore, the first 1000 days of life are very important and cannot be denied.
